Put Your Oxygen Mask On First

I’m sure everyone has seen the safety video while waiting for takeoff that warns you to put your oxygen mask on first before assisting someone else (in case of an emergency)? At first, I didn’t understand the importance of WHY putting the oxygen mask on myself first was more important than helping someone else. If you tried to help someone else first, you could possibly pass out before you have the chance to do any good. This safety rule should be applied to your everyday life. If you continuously put others ahead of you who will assist you in your time of need? Don’t forget that your body, mind and soul needs the same attention they you generously gives to others. Be selfish for once and take time to attend to yourself.
